¿Paz interior o estar siempre positivos?

Inner Peace or Always Staying Positive?

Do we always have to stay positive? Society often pressures us to force negative thoughts into positive ones. But does this constant effort actually support our mental well-being? At the School of Skills for Life and Health, we know that a calm mind brings true inner peace, serenity, and daily strength.

How can we reach this state of calm?

 “We Must Think Positively!”

“Smile! Today is a great day.” We hear these phrases constantly, especially during tough times. A sort of toxic positivity has spread, leaving many people frustrated when they cannot stay “always happy.” However, a calm mind is what truly brings us peace. Things do not always go as expected, and our surroundings are not always perfect.

Yet, you can still feel well and healthy during difficult times. You only need to look inside yourself. Recognize what you can do to improve your quality of life and boost your brain health.

A positive mind is not a calm mind

Blocking negative emotions can harm your health. Constantly repressing how you feel is physically and mentally exhausting. That is why we must realize we can always choose inner peace. This is a state of serenity, calm, and freedom from worry.

A positive mind is not necessarily a calm or quiet mind. When we start to observe negative thoughts and dislike them, we often force a positive shift. This means we fight against ourselves. By forcing this change, we remain in conflict instead of finding serenity.

How to Find Inner Peace?

The first step is simple. Stop labeling your thoughts as good or bad, positive or negative. In our training programs, we always emphasize one key question. Ask yourself if a thought helps you live the life you want. Is it useful for your happiness? If not, let it go.

Thoughts and emotions are deeply linked. Negative thoughts often surface automatically, causing anxiety without our conscious input. Becoming aware of our inner state helps us notice conflicting emotions like anger, jealousy, or frustration. These feelings trigger a cascade of biochemical reactions that we cannot simply stop. Trying to block them causes mental suffering and disrupts our body’s natural energy flow.

Therefore, the smartest approach is to do nothing. Life already knows how to release these emotions. We only need to observe ourselves and notice what is happening. As conscious beings, we have a unique ability to tap into higher emotions. Feelings like love and compassion create a powerful energy that surrounds the heart.

We consume energy to change and live. Realizing that we are inherently resilient helps us see that everything is temporary, including negative thoughts. This awareness builds resilience and boosts our body’s natural ability to heal.

In fact, a truly compassionate heart creates a magnetic field thousands of times stronger than the one produced by the brain. This connection is well-supported by scientific research.

Three Key Ingredients

To find inner peace, we only need to become aware of three steps:

1. Let go of what you cannot solve. Release everything that is out of your control. If you look closely, very few things depend entirely on you. Would you say only 5%, 10%, or 15%?

Let go of what is not yours to carry. These situations happen to show you where you are focusing your attention. We are only conscious of what we focus on. Everything else simply fades away.

2. Stop worrying about what others think of you. No one is born to fulfill anyone else’s expectations, not even their own. We often place our joy in the hands of others, especially authority figures. When we do this, we lose self-confidence and cage our souls. We stop loving and being free, forgetting that love and freedom are already within us.

What should you do? You can explore what causes your suffering, whether it is a judgment, a thought, or an idea. The key is to focus attention back on yourself.

3. Finally, find meaning and purpose in what is happening. We can all develop the ability to find meanings that fulfill us and help us grow.

Ultimately, remember this: the quality of your life reflects the quality of your meanings. Ask yourself: What guides your actions? Who do you follow? Who do you choose to believe?

We cannot build a new path if we constantly dwell on negative thoughts, whether we follow them or fight them. Staying in this state turns temporary stress into a chronic response. It makes us live as if we are constantly under threat. Surely, that is not what you want for your life!

The Choice

Choosing to connect with your true self is entirely possible. You do not need special talents for this journey. You only need to look beyond your ego. A simple determination to explore your inner world is enough. This invisible energy allows you to shift from survival mode to a creative, imaginative, and inspired state of mind.
