On this day of reflection, I believe one deep desire unites us all. We want our children to be happy. We want them to thrive and enjoy good workplace health in their current and future jobs. Don’t you agree?
We navigate complex and difficult corporate environments. We move through structures and personalities that restrict access to the heart. Sometimes, we suppress our human values out of fear of appearing vulnerable or different. The path to the executive board or general management often requires sacrifice and compromise. I ask myself: is this work model truly human? Why do we fight for a place in a system that costs us so much? It damages our physical and mental health. What is the point of perpetuating a sick world and “workism“?
Fortunately, something is changing.
Just yesterday, we saw this at the Co-society event. It was organized by the Institute of Next – Infonomia on “New ways of working“. We discussed new technologies and tools. We learned from real companies moving forward with imagination and trust. The key takeaway was clear. Tools do not make the difference, even though they improve daily. It is also not just about flexible work models. While these help, they do not drive essential change.
So, what are the keys to creating a different future? What shared purpose unites us? What drives our actions?
The key lies in mastering human quality. It is about building nurturing connections and valuable bonds that motivate people. We must create environments where learning is a lifelong passion. We need workplaces that trust people and foster human values. These are spaces where people have time to connect with themselves and others. In these environments, mental health and workplace health are seen as vital for business success.
