Circular Learning: How Human Development Progresses in Digital Spaces

We are concerned about the impact of the Covid pandemic on everyone’s mental health, especially the most vulnerable. Although efforts are being made to reschedule training, therapy, and knowledge updates through digital connections… we also know that most people who need care have disconnected from these networks. That is why today we bring a unique perspective on circular learning in digital educational environments.

With this complexity and uncertainty… is it time for personal development?

In my view, it is in highly complex times like these when we need to have our resources sharp and ready. These tools help us navigate life’s tensions while maintaining full health.

This means moving beyond immediate behavioral patterns driven by fear. Today, it is essential to know how we function and understand what we can do to change. Everything is easier when we are supported by the right tools and structures.

At the School, following the principles of Salutogénesis, we prioritize quality, scientific methods, and human closeness. We want learning Life and Health Skills to become a truly transformative experience.

Since personal development is highly important, urgent, and necessary, we now ask ourselves:

  • How can we encourage people to dive deeper and know themselves better?
  • How can we deliver and acquire learning that promotes human and personal development in digital contexts?

The challenges of personal development in digital environments

We are aware that personal development faces a double challenge right now. The first is motivation. The second is the learning model for human development in digital spaces.

On the other hand, preserving mental health means reclaiming trust and optimism. It means realizing how I view and experience change and uncertainty. We know that taking this path starts with a single step: learning to pause and look at ourselves, at what is beating within us.

Challenge 1: Motivation

Let’s look at the first challenge: sparking motivation and self-curiosity in people. This is tough when fatigue and burnout are palpable, and everyone just wants to turn the page as quickly as possible.

And we ask ourselves: how do we activate the courage to bet on ourselves? By knocking on the door of the heart’s brain.

Challenge 2: Learning model

As for the second challenge: at a time when remote work dominates and we end the day exhausted from screen time, how do we overcome the urge to just switch off?

By knocking on the door of a new way of being human, which is also found in the heart’s brain.

At the School, we say that we do not teach; you are the one who learns because you are the one who changes, connects, and transforms. We know this is precisely the learning process that brings quality of life. It builds confidence in your own ability to overcome daily challenges and stress.

Circular Learning Models that Inspire Deeper Growth

We facilitate the learning gears that you choose to activate. We study learning models that are highly effective in digital contexts and ideal for expanding human development. This is why we choose and guide you by adapting the circular learning model.

But what is circular learning? What qualities and methods does it apply?

At the School, the circular learning model allows us to offer you various possibilities. These combine different elements, tools, and resources organized with scientific rigor.

Circular learning promotes the transformation of concrete, personal experiences, leading the individual to:

  1. explore their perception and personal meaning of the experience (feeling)
  2. observe what is happening (observing, contemplating)
  3. conceptualize the facts and apply knowledge (thinking)
  4. actively experiment and self-discover new meanings (doing, transforming)

The circular learning system was proposed in the 1980s. It emerged from research on different learning styles and their relationship to brain hemisphere theory (Kolb, McCarthy, Guild, and Garger, 1998), which was beginning to be understood in greater detail at the time.

Starting from a concrete experience, this learning method facilitates the activation and connection of the left and right hemispheres. It combines questions that activate our diverse abilities to:

  1. imagine, perceive, and abstract: This is how I understand, relate, and connect with personal meaning.
  2. analyze and acquire knowledge: This is how I learn, integrate, define, and think critically.
  3. find practical application and utility: This is how I apply, practice, and see how it works.
  4. self-discover and adapt personally: This is how I experiment, personalize, and integrate.

Are you ready to experience “The Challenge of Learning to Pause”?

To test the excellence of this method, we present a practical application created at the School: The “Learning to Pause” Course-Challenge.

This training helps you find the keys to “learning to pause” and connect with the heart’s brain. What does it involve? Every day for 5 consecutive days, we provide a tool to help you bring what truly matters into your life.

Unlike linear learning methods that try to import techniques from the outside, this course-challenge has a different goal. It aims to help you learn to develop opportunities and a new understanding of what is best for your mental health.

Using your own experience and real-life situations that require you to pause—even if you haven’t yet—you will learn to navigate with curiosity. This allows you to go from the inside out, because you are looking for yourself and what makes sense to you.

Just like the circular economy, the “Learning to Pause” course we offer for free is regenerative. It repairs (your mental health), reuses (your experience), recycles (your priorities), and renews (your daily life).

Are you in? I am creating a group of 20 courageous and compassionate people who want to learn to restore balance in their lives. These are people who want to pause, do not know how, and are fully committed to learning!

What will you gain? See for yourself! It is more than just knowing how to pause while you and everything else are in motion… and all in just 5 days!

I encourage you to check out the course details here and let me know if you are ready to play “Learning to Pause” for 5 days. Click here for more information. I hope to see you!
